Child Abuse

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "See the people you voted for in action":

off topic here, but something you definitely need to investigate: the "Times" article on the child advocacy group says: " According to a report from CASA – Court Appointed Special Advocates – of the 11th Judicial Circuit, 611 children in this county have been reported as abused and or neglected."

611 kids in one year; over ten years? exactly what does that stat mean? according to the latest census there were about 8700 people in the county and 20% are under 18, or 1740 kids; 611 of 1740 would be 35% of the kids reported as abuse/neglected; trust me as one who works in the system, the CASA numbers are very misleading and inaccurate and begs several questions, among them are:

first, anyone can report a kid as abused/neglected; how many of those 611 reports were substantiated and how many were false reports?

second, if the 611 number is right, then CPS and/or local prosecutor are failing miserably in protecting children because only 14 cases (meaning 14 kids) were filed in all of the year 2014
sounds to me like CASA is inflating the number to secure funding for their group

  1. You hit the nail on the head. Its a money racket using chikdren as the pawns in their game. Do they (casa) really think they know your family better than you do ? They know what they are told, and thats it. I'm not buying it now or ever.
