01In 2000, a disused radiotherapy head containing a 60Co source was stored at an unsecured location in Bangkok, Thailand and then accidentally was sold to scrap collectors. Unaware of the dangers, a junkyard employee dismantled the head and extracted the source, which remained unprotected for a period of days at the junkyard. Ten people, including the scrap collectors and workers at the junkyard, were exposed to high levels of radiation and became ill. Three of the junkyard workers subsequently died as a result of their exposure, which was estimated to be over 6 Gy. The source was safely recovered by the Thai authorities.[13]Reply

113Not to discount the possibility of using this stuff in a "dirty" bomb, this is not the first time this has happened in Mexico. As I recall, several years ago there was a problem of Co60 having been found in some products that had been manufactured in Mexico. It had been inadvertently contaminated some steel that had been made from scrap metal, in Mexico. You can walk across the Northern with no issue at all.
ReplyDeleteMost of the high grade pot referred to as kind bud comes from Canada it sells from 400.00 a ounce or more to small amounts of 1/2 a gram for 10.00.
Our President insists the Southern boarders are secure but that is not true as most people with any common sense realize.
Arab terror types have been dealing with the cartels for some time smuggling unrefined opium or refined heroin for years in order to pay for their attacks just as the Columbian rebels have been doing.
The radicals would love to secure the items needed to get a dirty bomb into the USA but its kind of a one way trip as soon as cobalt is removed from the device it starts doing what its best at releasing radiation. And one derive would not contain enough to be worth while in trying to make a dirty bomb .
However if they could steal over time and place the devices inn a secure location remove the cobalt quickly one could place it on a plane and simply fly it over the boarder and blow it up or let the air force blow it up for them.
Its not that simple but in essence that's it.
We cant stop the shipment of a batch of glass grade meth from Mexican super labs to the crossing of Illegals daily . I doubt we will be so lucky if radicals who have money and are willing to give their lives to achieve their goals.
We are ruled and governed by idiots who care more about a press release than the truth.
